Statistics show that Georgia’s children are in need of quality Foster care, as well as a place to grow and to heal. The AARC farm provides several species of animals in which the children can interact with and benefit from such animal-assisted therapy sessions. Whether it is therapeutic horseback riding or reading aloud to a companion dog to develop literacy skills; each child has the opportunity to regularly interact with one or more animals of their choice to promote improvement in physical, social, emotional, and cognitive functioning.
Our unique program is designed to give these children responsibilities on a farm and to develop their leadership skills through mentoring and reaching out to the community. Our goal is to give them the tools they need to become successful members of society.
