All About Reaching Children

Our Program

AARC's program is composed of four parts:

First the children receive counseling (like most programs), but then they would have responsibilities on the farm (care for certain animals). A veterinarian on our Board states that “therapeutic rehabilitation is an excellent avenue for the healing process of children under traumatic situations.”

Next, the children will become mentors for the newcomers, thus creating in them a sense of leadership and self-worth.  Last, the children would take part in Inreach-Outreach.

This portion of the program provides an opportunity for children from the community to come in (e.g. Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts) and the foster child will teach them what he or she has learned about his animal.  Then that child would go and be a part of that group’s activities.  In this, the foster child will become a part of society.
